I personally have thought that slavery no longer existed. I mean, from what is portrayed on the media and in our newspapers I never envisioned slavery. Child Labor on the other hand is something that was presented to me in high school. My English showed a movie about it in class so I have an understanding of it but not a very in-depth one. Looking at it now, slavery does really exists because children, women and men are being treated like property, having to marry young, work young and have no childhood. Being forced to have no life and have their right taken from them is something I want an explanation for.
Trafficking of Women I know very little about. What I do know is that women all around the world, even here, are being treated as slaves. I take this very seriously because I too am a women and the fact that it still exist today troubles me very much. I plan to learn as much as I can because I what to spread the word to people who have no real clue about what these topics. This debate will greatly impact me and my knowledge to knowing what slavery throughout the world really is, ranging from childhood to late adulthood. The questions I have in my mind already are: How did Human Trafficking start? What is being done to stop this cruel behavior? I look forward to learning all I can.

How do you feel the economy is doing as of this moment?
I have not done any deep research about the economy or the stock markets so I can only go by observation. As as of now I feel that the world is in a somewhat down and poor state. Education wise I feel that there are decreases with graduates from high school and college. We see in the newspaper that the rates of unempolyment are rising. High rates of unemployment places and will continue to place people at the lower economic level. Resulting in poverty rates to rise as well.
The stock markets seem to be doing bad right now from what is seen in the daily newpaper and new channels. Personally my mother has been in the process of buying a house, currently she's been trying to get a house for the past two years. Often when I read the Los Angeles Times on Sunday's I can't remember the last time I saw the stock markets in a good position. This topic itself has made me want to be more informative about the world and the area in which the ecomony is headed.
The economy in my opinion is headed toward another depression. If the new president doesn't bring change I feel that the economy is going to go through a state of poverty. For example, in a few years when I graduate from college I will be greatly affected when it comes to finding a job and having a stable income. This election will affect college graduates, high school graduate, low-income families and basically every working Amercian here in Amercia. It's a scary thought to think about me possibly having to go through a depression. After being faced with this question of "where the world might be going" I have to say that I'm really concerned. Are we going to let history, of another depression, repeat itself? This next election will let us know all we need. The future, for the good or for the bad rests at the hands of the winner of this novembers presidental election.

What is your opinion on globalization?
In my opinion globalization both enriches and threatens identities of less powerful countries. America is seen to be a "Lexus ad", and when viewed on television in areas of the world where poverty is high; this perfect image puts down people who don't have whats seen on television, wealth and extravagance. The wrongful stereotypical image by the media of how countries and ethnic groups are portrayed is what threatens the identities of countries.
Globalization is seen to be a positive and informative thing as well. For example, letting the world, especially women who are house wives, grasp and gain knowledge on the world, which can't be taken away only built. Women would have the knowledge of overall health and proper up dates of living styles, education for children, all important information that is useful. The right to have information like the internet and technology is a key source to being informed yet it's the approach of globalization that consistently keep low countries in the same situation they were in, a less intrigued group of people who aim at not developing because of fear in change.
Spending money on technology is important but 200,000 dollars of computer and technology equipment can be used in a much more needed area, like on the people specifically. For example, livable homes and health care. Once housing is adequate enough to live in and health care is under control then there can come a vast change in development. Common rights are rights that we as humans deserve, homes and food, have to be met off the top. Later further additions such as, internet and speaker phones can be a priority. People in powerless countries need to be taken care of first because they are the less fortunate and attending to their problems is the first step to solving them and pushing them to move forth.
